Fall is a time for harvest. Harvesting veggies from the garden to make our salsa, harvesting sunflowers and pumpkins and gourds from the pumpkin patch to make our house feel cozy for the season and harvesting the first deer of the season that will feed our family this winter. God provides a bountiful harvest in so many ways to provide for all our needs.

Harvesting involves work, someone has to plant the seed, and tend to the crops, and then gathers the crop when they're ripe. When we harvest a deer it doesn't just jump in the freezer, we must track it and retrieve it, then we must remove the meat and slice it and grind it and vacuum seal it before it can be frozen, it's a lot of work! That's surely why the scriptures use the harvest to explain bringing others to the point of salvation, its a lot of work. The seeds of the word are planted, then they must be tended to and disciples and then when they come to the point of salvation the harvest for the Lord is a bountiful celebration. The end result is incredible and makes all the hard work leading up to the harvest worth every moment. So don't give up when the work gets hard, stick to doing good hard work for Christ and rejoice with him and enjoy the harvest.

These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Luke 10:2
