7-5-20 Riley is 13!

On this day 13 years ago; we weren't sure if we were having a boy or a girl, we had just chosen a name the night before and we had all the typical new parent jitters. A few days later our baby girl arrived, and we have been nothing but blessed since. She was as close to perfect of a baby that anyone could dream and she's been a precious child and tween. Alas, now we enter the teen years, how will they transpire? Will we fall into the stereotypical teen years? Maybe, possibly, hopefully not and this is how we hope to combat that...

"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:5-9

My prayer for our daughter as she enters this next stage in life is that she fall more in love with Jesus everyday, to continue reading her Bible daily and painting scriptures and pictures on her door, to grow in grace and mercy and have compassion for others. One of the greatest treasures in this life God has given me has been watching you grow. I'll say it again, we have been blessed and are so grateful to have you as our daughter Riley Sue!
