Many times, it’s easy to feel alone and vulnerable; to feel
as if no one is there or cares for us. Even as a Christian it’s easy to let
satan tell you these lies and then to believe them. All these things cannot be
further from the truth. God’s word is truth, every bit of it! Psalm 31:1-2
gives us a prayer to lift to God when we feel this way; “O LORD, I have come to
you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is
right. Turn your ear to listen to me; rescue me quickly. Be my rock of
protection, a fortress where I will be safe.” He will listen, he will rescue us
quickly, he will be our protector and keep us from disgrace; but we must ask
him to receive all these blessings. We are also often times tricked to think we
are entitled to these gifts from God, that he owes them to us since we are
Christians. We must humble ourselves and come before him to ask for this
protection. When we feel down and vulnerable, our savior is near, don’t let
your pride get in the way of asking him to protect you and hold you safely in
his fortress.
